WARMER MIXTAPES #514 | by Phillip Morpheeus Jones [Tennis Rodman]

The Sine Field is a Minneapolis based collective of artist who's focus is to promote new way of thinking, Through Culture.
Started by Tennis Rodman and Enron Hubbard.

1. Nujabes | Aruarian Dance
Damn, I grew up on this one, I gotta say this song probably was the single most important songs of my early music development, I couldn't say where I found it, somewhere online affiliated with early social networking blogs sites with music enabled Flash, Bearshare, Limewire or something or something of the sort... All I can really say comfortably is this song represents a time where I had first found freedom on the Internet, with my own computer able to sail the seas as I pleased.

2. Prota | Bosscoffee
This is a song I found pretty recently within the last few months, not quite sure how old it is or much about the artist/producer, it was jus something I found on Tumblspace and was diggin so I did some diggin. Easily one of the biggest Indie Hip Hop bangers I found all of 2011 (although I wasn't really looking) and as much as I do hate the term SWAG, the hook on this one vividly explains an exceptional definition of the word, in his own scenario that we are all to familiar with. This song is as close to perfect I have heard (to me) unknown artists put out.

3. Maal A Goomba | The Diana Frances Goomba Wave Intro
Damn son, where'd you find this one?? Yes, is that good, these niggas Maal A Goomba and MΔRRI$ really inspired me getting a chance to see them throw parties with the whole Team Bear Club Fam out in Lawrence, KS. This whole mixtape is fire beyond belief, but the intro in particular is somethin I love to ride out to on a daily basis, to me is just says WE STILL OUT CHERE, THE GOOMBAWAVE IS STRONG... Every morning rollin' out in my 95 Prelude, Sunroof back, system bumpin' the intro... Yes, that's how I like to start my days out... #DRIPSET...

4. GYPSY MAMBA | POOP GOD
I have a deep admiration for culture within music, especially in nonsensical type ways, like this tune might seem on the surface... But it's a deep as the bass, that's part of why I respect GYPSY so much as a producer as well as a person. For me this song is everything I could ask for.

5. StewRat | Gucci Spacesuit
This is what dreams are made of. StewRat is very legendary in my world. This guys is one of the best producers I've stumbled onto in years, his albums go on for days, he's got the work ethic of Lil Wayne, the brain of Einstein, and the soul of Dilla. All his tracks are impressive but his Trap influenced stuff really sits well with me at the moment, chill and trill... Perfect.

6. Yung God | Perfect
#SWOOP #SPLASH #OCEANGANG #TRILL #AXLTHXSSHXT is #BASED. No, Yung God isn't Based God, and didn't invent the Based movement, but to me, he was the one that made me understand. This song is perfect, all my #BASEDNXXXXZ will stand up, #PIXXVGVXG knows what's real. This song is one I put on when I don't want to hear nuthin and all I wanna do is worship.

7. NastyNasty | Sweaty Bodies
Jaspey must get laid on a cosmic level, how else could he embody such passion and lust into his tunes. Sometimes instead of watching porn I just listen to this tune. Such a heater, NastyNasty is a pretty cool guy from what I've collected the few times I've talked with him on the net. Def' one of the biggest influences I've had in my Electronic Music journey and I thank Jah every day that such an artist exists! He's found the golden sound (don't tell him that).

8. Thriftworks | Thizza Thizza
What a hipster am I, at first I was like, Should I share Thriftworks?... That's my secret weapon... Lulz, too many people are on that tip and I think that may be part of why this guy is so unknown. Jake Atlas or Thriftworks' production skills are unparalleled. He's really developed, I hear all those Berkley kids are next level but this guys music is a Slumpy, Jazzy, Chakra Building Paradise. I recorded some music over some of his beats with the homie Neuport (Mikey D Lane) a while ago under a basement, can I borrow your MacBook to record on garageband, side project called Can't Act Right Crew. Thriftworks has a new album dropping 1/10/12... I'm toooooo excited for.

9. Gucci Mane | Stevie Wonder
I think that Gucci proves once again that every rapper wants to be him in this anthem of a track I think I found on the mixtape he did with Waka. I don't goon out on the mixtape game well enough to trap as hard as I'd like, but I do mob out to this one when I get a chance. It's everything I love about Gucci and Rap Music in general, and I love Stevie Wonder. Win/Win.

10. Greg Enemy | Sophisticated Goon Shit
When I was 18, fresh out of high school I took a trip to Lawrence, KS to see The Cool Kids, perform at the Granada. Greg Enemy was one of the openers, and to be honest after the show I was more geeked on his performance than I was for The Cool Kids. After seeing Greg, I made the decision that I would move to Lawrence as soon as I could figure it out, just to see how a place could influence such a character as Greg. He seems very familiar but also very rare at the same time. Sophisticated Goon Shit is such a deep track, I find myself floating through noticing new nuances and metaphors on a weekly basis. Greg is one of the Midwest's best kept secrets and I'm excited to see what the future brings for this live young nigga. Check out his latest EP Xtra Small, released through the homies over at Team Bear Club.

WARMER MIXTAPES #513 | by Eric W. [Spooky Cheddar]

1. Clark | Future Daniel
The best song ever, objectively speaking. Like F-Zero the Electro-Thrash track. Constant *boosts* and it absolutely never gets old. Just keep boosting. Play this for your parents and tell them you made it and you will have immediately justified the majority of your poor Life Decisions. Just don't get caught...

2. Boards of Canada | 1969
Nineteen Sixty Nine In The Sunshine indeed. I discovered BOC when I was in my early teens. It was winter and the IDM/Ambient internet radio stations I had just discovered kept playing these eerily cool songs by this group I'd never heard of every other track. I'd never heard music like that before. I didn't know Music could sound like this. It changed my life.

3. Stay Ali | Auhlau
I feel like I am being heartily scolded by a very sexy, yet threatening, android when this is on. Not sure if there's anything more than needs to be said about that. Stay Ali are cool Swedish people and this makes me appreciate their stuff more, but I'm not sure why. Their EPs are dynamic and all over the place and the fact that they exist makes me very happy. I would have included this track, but it's been unreleased for a year and a half (?)... You should listen to it anyway.

4. Stephen Farris | Orange Mellow
Stephen Farris is a supremely talented person from the Internet that everyone should know about. He makes the kind of Hip Hop I want to hear, *actual* Next Level Shit, really intricate compositions that go hard as hell and make you want to give him all your money. (He also edits crazy videos using VHS footage. Whoa.)

5. Flying Lotus | Untitled #7
I listened to this track on repeat over 500 times according to my iTunes so it's probably an Important Part Of My Life. Static-y shuffles, really soft, warm melody... And it's just heartbreaking, I don't know. Flying Lotus is in a class of his own as a beat maker, but I really appreciate his subtle stuff too. Beautiful song.

6. Vinyl Williams | Higher Worlds
My blog buddy introduced me to this track a bit ago and Lemniscate, the album it's on, has been in my car ever since. It's really perfect driving music, or sitting-in-the-woods music, or fishing music, maybe. I will trying fishing to it this summer and see how it goes.

7. Tree Wave | Sleep
I found Tree Wave on MySpace back when I first started posting my stuff online. As far as I'm concerned they do the Girl-Singing-Guy-Playing-Synthesizer thing better than anyone out, probably ever. I think they're cute and their jams make me blush.

8. Jackson And His Computer Band | Teen Beat Ocean
Of Adult Swim Bump Fame, this song essentially reminds me of leather. Jackets, belts, lederhosen. Smash was the penultimate style orgy of 2005 and beyond and not a day goes by that I don't miss him and wonder where he's gone off to. If anyone knows, please tell me, or better yet just tell him to put out some more music so I can listen to it. Please.

9. Young Montana? | Dreamhome
Tread lightly, this track will do things to your mind. Permanent, irreversible things. It will also make you feel like you just took a bath and somehow also got really dirty and you'll feel good about it for some reason. Limerence was probably my favorite album of 2011, so that means you should download it and just let it change you.

10. Shalamar | A Night To Remember
I don't even care what you think about this song, but it definitely belongs on this list. I've heard it described as processed Funk and if it is, so be it. It is Life Affirming, in a processed, funky kind of way. Strange that this was a way bigger hit in Britain than in America, for an American group. Also, can we talk about what's going on in this video? Wow.

WARMER MIXTAPES #512 | by Lars T C F Holdhus [Craxxxmurf/Craxxxsoft]

My brain is erasing itself. Here is what I came up with.

1. Oneohtrix Point Never | Nobody Here

I listened to this track on repeat for several days. It's already a loop so I just put the loop on repeat. It was in a period where my life was going in the wrong direction and I was just staying inside all day doing nothing. I used to lay in bed for hours listening to this track thinking that this was one of the most perfect loops I had ever heard.

2. Hans Appelqvist | Zenna & Marie

At 3:08 starts the theme song of my life. I make music for the kids. They are the Future. This song is dedicated to the kids.

3. DJ Elmoe | Whea Yo Ghost At, Whea Yo Dead
 Man
This became the theme song for my numerous trips to Zurich, interjail style. Mr. A and Veli Silver was helping me out on the crime side of life while I was doing the business tasks to make things run. In Zurich my addiction to coconut juice begun.

4. Jeremih | Waiter/The 5 Senses (Alvin And The Chipmunks - Theodore Version)
My favourite tracks at the moment are chipmunk versions of tracks. I never made love to a chipmunk song, please mail me cracksmurf4ever@gmail.com if anybody is up for an all nighter chipmunk version. This song is also dedicated to Rachel.

5. Yahel & Dj Miss T | Skywalker

When I was 13 I started to DJ Trance Music in my bedroom. It started with DJ Tiësto and the whole In Trance We Trust series. I wanted to go so badly to Hyperstate which was the biggest Trance party in Norway. Of course I was way too young and my parents where not that enthusiastic about the whole Trance experience.

6. Jens Lekman | Firecracker (On Our Way To A New Year's Party)
Frederik Gruyaert and I were on a road trip around Norway to shoot some scenes for a movie and a upcoming book I am working on. I wanted to shoot a very specific scene on top of this mountain which we never found. The whole trip ended up with me firing up some smoke bombs while rowing a boat, at six in the morning, Freddy fighting millions of mosquitoes and filming at the same time. I seriuosly choked from all the smoke and all my clothes got colored pink.

7.

Arthur Russell | That's Us/Wild Combination

This song has become a song I think I play for somebody that I love/like without realizing that I'm actually playing it for myself. I just realized this when I was asked for this mixtape. It's like I'm playing it to a mirror that contains everything I want from somebody else. I keep relating this song to various people for that reason.

8. Ten City | That's The Way Love Is (Underground Mix/Extended Version)
This song is dedicated to Mark Vincent Houston for all the crazy times we had together. He is a dedicated voguer when he is drunk and one dip too much ended up with picking out glass pieces from his back the next day. I had just broke up with my ex and his answer was a link to this song on YouTube. Loved it since then.

9. Vybz Kartel | Half On A Baby

At the moment I'm living in Frankfurt. You can spot me walking around with my Nokia 6233 playing this song on repeat. It's also my ringtone at the moment. Vybz Kartel is fucked. I'm fucked and would like to get fucked. So please call me so dis tune will be played one more time. +4915129032580

.

10. DJ Lhasa | Giulia (Piano Mix)
This song is from one of the first times I went to Berlin. A friend of mine from Poland had this on his Discman and was constantly playing it. After that I keep coming back to this track in various forms. The latest version is a piano version. Am I getting old?

WARMER MIXTAPES #511 | by James Chapman [Maps]

1. Zodiac Free Arts Club | Ordre Du Temple Solaire
This track sounds like an extract from a lost movie soundtrack. It’s quite uplifting in a spooky kind of way. It's only 2 minutes long, but it manages to transport you into a different world completely. The whole album is great actually, but I love this little track especially. The perfect way to start my mix-tape!

2. Panda Bear | Tomboy
I love this whole album, I struggled over which track to pick. I just love what Panda Bear is doing. The closest thing to a long-lost Beach Boys song you’ll probably hear. He has a real fearlessness in his voice when he sings, but there is a real beauty about it too. I've had this album in my car for what seems like forever, and it still sounds fresh. So that has to be a good sign.

3. Lone | Ultramarine
This one has a really Old-Skool House feel. I loved Lone’s album Ecstasy & Friends, but this track is much more dancefloor friendly. I don’t think anyone else is making music like this at the moment. I remember when I first heard his stuff it just blew me away, and I loved the way he manipulated the sounds. The beats seem to stutter and start as if they're about to give way, but somehow hold together. Every one of his album's have been different, but each has created it's own unique world. Love it.

4. Shadow Dancer | Parallax
I found this track while surfing around late one night. The whole Murder Room EP is great, but this track really stood out for me. A proper stomping Electro bassline and awesome synth sounds. Quite euphoric in a dark sort of way. I love it when a track just seems to come out of nowhere and takes you by surprise. It has a really retro feel about it, almost in a creepy way. Definitely one to play late at night.

5. Bibio | Carosello Ellitico
A fantastic little tune, it always makes me smile when I play it. It just takes me into a Psychedelic Summer that I never had. That’s what I love about Music. It can take you to places that you’ve never been before, in your head I mean. If I can escape from my head for 5 minutes then I know the Music is good.

6. Phosphorescent | The Waves At Night
I don’t know too much about Phosphorescent, but this album, Pride, is probably one of my favourite records from the last few years. His voice is amazing. It reminds me of Low, but the whole feel of the record is so open, as if it was recorded in a forest somewhere at night. It sounds like a really cathartic record, if you know what I mean? This song just surges with emotion. The harmonies are beautiful. I love songs that have harmonies supporting the main vocal throughout. This song has a real choral quality to it, lot's of vocals working together. It's something I love in Music, and I try to do it in my own songs. There's something magical about getting a harmony to work with a melody line, and this song gives me shivers when I listen to it.

7. Isan | Cathart
I rediscovered this little tune again recently. Great analogue synth sounds. And a really warm-sounding track. Good to chill out to. It's quite an old song now, but still has the same effect on me as when I first discovered it. I've started to go back to some of the old CD's I bought when I first started making my own music, the one's that got me excited in the first place. It's amazing how quickly a track can transport you back to a place and time when you put it on again after a few years. This track has a real innocence about it which I still love.

8. Efdemin | America
This is quite an old track but I still listen to it frequently. It’s got a really hypnotic quality to it. Great to escape to. I love the Minimal pounding sub bass drum. The rest of the parts in the track subtly evolve around that. A proper little trip. The repetitive vocal sample really works because of the way he filters it throughout the whole song. It's one of those tracks that reveals more each time you listen to it. Great tune.

9. Death In Vegas | Your Loft My Acid (Fearless Trans-House Mix)
I really like this new album (Trans-Love Energies). I was listening to it all the other day on my headphones. Then this remix came on at the end of the album and I loved it. I was walking around London on a miserable rainy day, and this tune just made everything feel alright you know? That’s what Music’s all about. Her vocal is amazing, it really lifts the track to a whole new euphoric level. And I love the Old-Skool feel of the whole thing.

10. Low | Done
One of my favourite bands of all time. I remember the first time I saw them play live on the Secret Name tour, I was moved to tears (I know I probably shouldn't admit that). That was probably the moment that I decided I wanted to try and make a go of recording my own music. Because of that, Low will always have a special place in my heart. This is from their last album C’mon. A wonderful little song. They are the only band I know that can make me well up with tears just from the opening chord. This is music for the soul that connects right to the core. I could write an essay about how great Low are, but you’d probably get bored, so I’ll end it there. A great track to finish with though!

WARMER MIXTAPES #510 | by Michael Paolino [Husband] of The Professionals, Carl Fox and Luna Parade

1. Dave Matthews Band | Ants Marching
There’s an amazing live acoustic version of this track performed by Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds. I got it off an American friend in 2003 who was in Perth studying at the University next to my house. At the time I had just started playing live solo shows at the local pub where he and I were regulars. The song completely blew my mind. It’s so complicated to play yet sounds really simple. I remember listing to it on repeat (trying desperately to play along on my guitar) thinking how the hell do you write something like this?...

2. Interpol | Obstacle 1
This song basically inspired me to start my first serious band. We called ourselves The Professionals, in homage to Jean Reno’s film Léon: The Professional. Two of the guys from The Professionals are now in Husband with me, which is another reason why this song is so special to me. I heard it in 2004 while I was studying music. A friend of mine who was a drummer played it to me at full volume from his car stereo while drumming the beat on his legs. I was hooked and I listened to the album on repeat for about a year. (And I still don’t know the words.) It’s weird but I honestly feel like this song sounds the way I think about things, almost like a perfect soundtrack to my thoughts.

3. The Smiths | This Charming Man
The bassist in my band made me a mix tape with this song on it. There’s a gentleness to it I hadn’t felt before in a song. It soon became my favorite track to put on at a party and dance around like an idiot to.

4. The Killers | When You Were Young
After first hearing The Killers album Sam’s Town I remember feeling exhausted and completely in awe of the band. This track makes me feel like I’m on a journey or something. It’s an epic song.

5. Pixies | Where Is My Mind?
I heard this song for the first time at the end of the movie Fight Club. Pixies have been one of my favorite bands ever since. The track reminds me of my crazy years trying to figure out what I wanted and all that stuff. Who am I? What should I do? All those questions I felt like I desperately needed to answer. For me, this song spat in the face of all that, because it’s just about life not making sense. I like that. It’s also the song my wife walked down the aisle to. She has good taste in music!

6. Shout Out Louds | Very Loud
It was 3am when I saw the video for this tune on the TV and I became obsessed with Shout Out Louds instantly. It was the first Indie Folk I’d heard and I loved it. It evokes intense happiness for me, the marching snare drum and harmonica always put me in a good mood. I was jamming with a friend of mine at the time and I remember feeling stuck with the songs we were writing, I had written Country and Folk and Rock and liked all the tracks, I just couldn’t work out how to put all my loves of music into one sound. And then I heard these guys, I was so impressed with them - such amazing song writers. I remember at the time all my music buddies were always telling me about cool new bands no one had heard of and I thought to myself, my mates probably know who these guys are, so I asked them and to my absolute horror no one had heard of them! It was probably the first band I was able to get all my friends into!

7. Johnny Cash | The Man Comes Around
One of my favorite songs ever. I heard this for the first time at the start of the film Dawn Of The Dead. The opening of the film is absolutely terrifying with flesh eating zombies, fear and chaos, then out of nowhere this Johhny Cash song comes on. There’s a man going round takin’ names. It’s such a different take on Country music, I love the attitude and cheek, and its beautiful rhymes. I learnt how to play it that night and it’s still one of the first songs I play to warm up.

8. UNKLE | Burn My Shadow
This is an incredibly cool song. It’s got an awesome video clip where this guy wakes up to find he has a bomb in his chest with a timer ticking down. It just reminds me of pure energy. I used to play a cover of this track with my last band and every time we played it the mood in the room would intensify tenfold. Whenever I hear it I feel that same nervous energy I get before I perform.

9. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club | Spread Your Love
I saw these guys this year when they came to Perth. So cool! I love the way they share the singing between the two of them as if they’re just one entity. Whenever I listen to this track I’m transported back to that gig with all the leather jackets and smoke.

10. The Velvet Underground | Beginning To See The Light
This is one of my wife’s favourite songs and when we started dating her car stereo always had on either the Pixies or Lou Reed. We’re living on the beach at the moment and I love putting this song on when we drive down the coast. Great song to sing along to, there are a few pearls of wisdom in these lyrics!

WARMER MIXTAPES #509 | by Javier Fuentes [Sacred Twin]

1. Deerhunter | Desire Lines
To me this is the quintessential Deerhunter song. I've always loved the way that Lockett sings, very simple but powerful, and this song is his best performance yet. I always play this song after school as it helps to distract me from what everybody else is doing. There's always a nice feeling when it gets to the second half of the songs with the cascading guitar and bass lines. Nothing else really matters when this song is playing.

2. Foxes In Fiction | 15 Ativan (Alternate Version)
This is the song with the most plays on my iPod by quite a big margin. There's something very soothing and uplifting in the song yet it still feels distant and fragile. It's pretty much the perfect song. Finding out about this band was also probably the highlight of a pretty low key year for me.

3. Atlas Sound | Parallax
Atlas Sound is one of my absolute favourite bands and the two previous releases are all time classics in my opinion but this new record really divided my opinion. At first I really didn't like it with the exception of a few songs but lately it has begun to grown on me like all good albums should. I really love how direct the title track is in both the lyrics and minimal instrumentation. Bradford Cox is the best songwriter right now in my opinion.

4. Beach Fossils | Daydream
It's currently winter and Beach Fossils aren't really considered a winter kind of band but I've been trying to listen to more positive music lately and this fits the bill. There's a certain effortlessness that I love about their music, it makes Life seem like it's not as bad as it actually is.

5. Real Estate | Green Aisles
I've been listening to this for a lot of the same reasons that I listen to Beach Fossils. It's feel good music that takes you away from your problems for a couple of minutes and lets you enjoy life for a change. There was a time earlier this year when I was really into Surf Rock and Guitar Music but I quickly found out how difficult it is to make this songs as good as this.

6. Privacy | Gone
This song is from one of my favourite records of all time and I listen to it as much as I can. I found out about Privacy from reading Bradford Cox's guest list for Pitchfork and it's definitely one of my best musical discoveries so far. If I could sing with the same kind of emotion and fragile beauty of her voice then I would probably spend all my time trying to replicate this song.

7. Oneohtrix Point Never | Replica
This is definitely one of the saddest songs that I've ever heard. It's really connected with me on a couple of occasions this year when things haven't been going so well. I shouldn't really be listening to the song so much because it's really depressing but the song is just so good that I can't really forget about it that quickly.

8. Toro Y Moi | Talamak
Sure Chillwave is getting old but I absolutely love this song. I play it a lot during school because it's not super emotional and I can just enjoy it for the music without having to think about any problems or feelings. I also find myself in awkward situations quite often and this kind of works as a musical Ativan.

9. Lotus Plaza | Where I'm Going (Cut Copy Cover)
Hands down the best cover recorded this year. The way he turned this from an Electronic Rock song into a Psychedelic Folk song is incredible. I can't wait for a new Lotus Plaza album to come out.

10. Panda Bear | Alsatian Darn
This is the best song of 2011 in my opinion. It's flawless and beautiful in ways that only Panda Bear could achieve. There were people who felt disappointed that Tomboy wasn't as crazy as Person Pitch but I thought Tomboy was the best album of the year. I desperately need to see this played live someday.

WARMER MIXTAPES #508 | by John Murphy Jr. [Ghetto Ass Glenn/Junior John/Enron Hubbard]

1. Claude VonStroke | Chimps
This track ruled my life for a good six months after its release. It seemed to speak directly with my inner clown. The simple beat and over all goofiness of the track just got to me. It made me smile inside and out. I remember being in college classes replaying the track over and over in my head while clenching my butt cheeks to the beat. I know I am not the only person that does this. Playing butt drums is one of my biggest hobbies. Barclay Crenshaw is a genius. He has been so influential to my music and lifestyle. He taught me not to take my music or my life too seriously. This lesson has been vital to my happiness.

2. Primus | The Antipop
Another song that was playing on my iPod or car stereo constantly for a good minute. I have always considered myself to be a punk just without the patches and hair gel. I just love the feeling of going against the grain. Les Claypool really got me into bass. The sounds he is able to produce with minimal effects are just devastating and unreal. He truly pushed his instrument to the limit. This song had it all for me. A great solid and dirty bass line that could probably carry the song on its own, awesome minimalist guitar rhythms, and of course the message. It made me feel good and proud about doing my own thing.

3. Skee-Lo | I Wish
This track just takes away any care I have and reminds me of when times were simple and easy. Days when Mountain Dew and Nintendo 64 ruled my life. It was my birthday and I really wanted a Sony walkman and some Rap tapes. That’s right I said tapes. CDs were already the new thing but I was OG even at the age of 9. I wish I could go thank the Tempo Records employee that suggested this album to my mom. I played that tape out son. In my head I’ve always been kind of an outkast especially when it comes to the opposite sex. So when I heard Skee-Lo rapping about being self conscious and still sounding fly I was hooked. It made me feel like embracing how average I really am.

4. Girl Unit | Shade On
I am still amazed by this track. It took characteristics from so many genres and blended them so well. I also love the creepy quality to it. I am a huge fan of horror flicks and this track just complemented that side of me so much. It was the soundtrack to all these creepy horrific pictures in my head. It wasn’t until I heard this track that I really started to explore Electronic Music and all the lovely oddities it offers. It helped me to break from my 4/4 124bpm production style and really just go with what I was feeling. I love his use of so many different drum patterns and samples. This song was the inspiration for my track Thizzin Ain’t Easy and continues to inspire me now.

5. Inner City | Big Fun
Just listen to this song and you’ll get why I put it on this list. Kevin Saunderson is such a huge part of what Techno has turned into today. The simple synths and drum pattern are so great and effective. And then comes that delightfully cheesy synth violin riff. These guys really paved the way for classic acts like Ace Of Base and Aqua. Jesus titty f***ing Christ I love this song. The title says it all. Have fun, you only live this life once. Make Music by any means possible.

6. Samim | Springbreak
This track is just so sexy. It makes me want to do expensive drugs and sexy dances. FYI I can’t dance for shit. There’s a reason I am a DJ. I do have a mean head bob though. Samim really got me into the Deep House thing and now I can’t get enough. I think people with low self esteem should listen to Deep House because it makes you feel sexy and confident.

7. Belleruche | Backyard (kidkanevil Remix)
Any time I play this it gives me goose bumps. I can feel the Universe aligning with just the first flute sample. This song is my American Beauty most beautiful thing ever moment. I can’t pinpoint what it is about the song. It just makes me feel good. It’s like an audio induced bull shit filter that just allows me to see all this beauty instantly.

8. Three 6 Mafia | Sippin' On Some Syrup
I was so really stoked when I heard this song for the first time. It was so slow and had a very under produced quality to it for mainstream Hip Hop. Southern And Trap style drum patterns are so simple to create but still so damn effective. I really started getting into Southern Hip Hop after Three 6 came into my life. These guys were hard as hell yet still embraced their inner kid and general goofyness. God bless Three 6 Mafia and of course that tasty purple beverage.

9. Tennis Rodman | Goombawave (Produced by Morri$)
These dudes are the homies. Tennis has this style on the mic that is just so swaggy with what seems like no effort what so ever. And if you haven’t heard Morri$ yet, don’t worry you will. I think he is going to be the next big thing. His tracks are the perfect balance of sexy, cool, and generally not giving a f***. Tennis and Morri$ have taken me under their wings and I am just so happy to be a part of this movement. Shout outs to Team Bear Club, The Sine Field, Wak Lyf and the entire Goomba family. We got something special here.

10. Detroit Grand Pubahs | Sandwiches
In the days before Juke And Footwork this was it for me. It had speed, simplicity, and a catchy, sexy, funny hook. These guys are just awesome and great at what they do. Also their videos are great and live shows are always cheap.

Azure Blue - Warmer Confusions (Little Confusions Remixes) | curated by Vlad Stoian

DOWNLOAD

This is the third official release by Warmer Climes music blog.
My tender experiment with help from some of the best Romanian Electronic Music producers out there.
It started, like all the splendid ideas on Warmer Climes, from the undescribable rage of feeling misunderstood in a World of ignorant fools, always dreaming of something else, alone with everybody.

Little Confusions - by the extraordinary Swedish composer Tobias Isaksson, former leadsinger of Irene & Laurel Music, Pop-for-Sweethearts bands, a splendid lyricist with an impressive history on the legendary, my very dear, Labrador Records - succeeded in expressing my urge to be heard and feel right in life.

The Importance Of Being Free. Little Confusions. Warmer Climes.
Freedom To Be Whatever You Want To Be, Power of Flying Higher Than The Clouds, Absoluteness, Always Searching, Always Above.
The Triumph Of A Heart That Gives All...

Little Confusions touched my inner smile.
Back in February 2011, when Tobias shared first demo of this miracle.

Rest of it... You can just hear it in this truly outstanding experimental collection, filled with tones of Freedom, reuniting one of Romania’s best brand-new musicians right now, some of them (Minus, Kapnobatai) helping me exactly an year after the reinvention I dreamt for Loredana’s always fantastic Rain Rain single.

I guess it’s time to turn all those Little Confusions in our lives into something WARMER, into LOVE. I pray that this remixes-album will beautifully change something in the way you think, in the way you feel and offer warmness to others in your life.

Stay Yellow. Stay Free. Merry Christmas and a shiny, healthy, warmer and wild 2012 to all of you!

Azure Blue - Rule Of Thirds, the miraculous solo full debut album by Tobias Isaksson, is out since November 23rd 2011, on Hybris Records and you can buy it here. Despite Warmer Confusions FREE COLLECTION, the single Little Confusions is happy to offer some other official treats (remixes) from Scandinavian artists that you will soon be able to enjoy online.

WARMER MIXTAPES #507 | by Corey Thomas Davenport [Temple Grandin] of Helionaut

1. Rivka | Sky Child
This song had me hooked by the first five seconds (not to mention an awesome music video accompaniment). The sounds of children playing in the background mix all too perfectly with the awesome synth and Rivka's purely angelic vocals. For me this is literally the PERFECT song. It brings me into this ideal world in my mind where you're just kind of alone in a world of beautiful sounds and nothing else matters. I'll probably get lost in my mind if I ever see them live!

2. Right Away, Great Captain! | Cutting Off The Blood To Ten
I love a great story told through song especially when it's full of emotion and it's representative in the music itself with the build up of speed and volume and how hard an instrument is played, and this song is the epitome of emotion. It tells the story of a 17th Century sailor who finds his wife cheating on him with his own brother. I vividly remember the first time I heard this song I was driving home from school and I literally was taken out of the real world (which is ridiculously dangerous), the lyrics put the most tragic movie in my mind and I felt everything that the sailor felt, which was mostly an intense feeling of betrayal and a confused hate/love for his unfaithful wife. It's really memorable when a song can make you feel so strongly about a fictional character.

3. Boards Of Canada | An Eagle In Your Mind
It's really hard to say how I felt when I heard this song for the first time. My feelings while listening to it now still fluctuate from total awe, to being creeped out, to being in total awe all over again. I unabashedly love a song with unique drum kits and percussion and BoC uses a conversation with their roommates girlfriend to create a really crunchy sounding drum kit in this song, and it works perfectly.

4. Krusht | On A Hill (feat. Alleyes Manifest)
This song is great and the synth really makes you feel like you're in a fantasy world until the percussion comes in and you realize you're in a badass Hip Hop world! This song also uses some chopped vocals which is something I always love to hear in a song.

5. Teams | Based Love
I'm absolutely obsessed with chopping vocals and when I heard this song I nearly shit my pants. Everything about this song just makes you want to move. The synth is catchy but manages to take a back seat to the chopped vocals which are done amazingly in this song. I LOVE TEAMS.

6. Shabutie | Cassiopeia
This is a really emotional song and that is honestly what I love about it most. Shabutie was the band before the very popular Coheed And Cambria came to be known and the vocals in this song hit hard and really make you feel entranced by an amazing story in song form. Coheed will always be my #1 favorite band of all time and these earlier songs just really resonate with me. I remember the first time I heard it I had plugged my laptop in to my amp and turned it up as loud as I could and just listened to it over and over again for probably a half an hour. Early Coheed And Cambria songs as well as Shabutie are attached to so many wonderful memories of my early teen years and every time I hear them it brings me back like an audible time machine.

7.
Washed Out | Feel It All Around
This song is constantly in my playlist and hits every point that I love in Chillwave. Every time I hear the song I make the cheesiest smile haha. Love this artist.

8.
Shisa | Sweet Sptmbr
I absolutely love this song. I started getting into dreamy kind of Drone earlier this year and when I heard Shisa's mash-up of M83 and Waka Flocka Flame I had to listen to everything else he had made. When I heard Sweet Sptmbr I literally took a deep breath, relaxed, and smiled. It's absolutely perfect for what I look for in good Drone.

9.
Spooky Cheddar | Definite Maybe
It's just the intro track to his album Bedroom Visionquest. But it really sets the mood for the album which is something I really like to hear. I love a short track like this that gives me an idea of what the rest is like especially when it's as enticing as this. The first time I heard it I was literally blown away. The creepy fading in an out of a screaming/applauding crowd mixes really well with this conflicting mysterious synth he uses.

10. Michael Myerz | How I Got My Shrunken Head
This was actually the first song I had ever heard from
Michael Myerz and continues to be one of my favorites of all time from him. You're practically hooked from the first 10 seconds of the song. The beat is so unique that t's impossible not to bob your head to it.

WARMER MIXTAPES #506 | by Michael Joseph Lane [Neuport]

This is what I'm into today. Right now...

1. Rihanna | We Found Love (feat. Calvin Harris)
This song is amazing to me today. Not typically what I'm into but it's an incredible tune. I love how epic and fun it is but there is elements of darkness and sadness tied in. I originally liked it at first listen, but it's the type of song, that when heard in the right setting and after being heard before, gives you that sense of fun excitement and familiarity that we all love about Music. Great party tune. My friends, The Moon Goons, played it at their monthly event in Minneapolis called Bomp at first avenue last weekend. It's a sad song but to see people jump up and down dancing to it is an incredible sight. It has that magical balance that I'm always in search of. I also played it out the other night speed up to 160 bpm and I layered Juke Beat over it. It put a smile on my face.

2. Craxxxsoft | Can't Be Friends
I just got turned on to Craxxxsoft aka Craxxxmurf like today. This tune is truly rad. It feels so good. I found it digging on Soundcloud. I love the Cumbia-ish beat. It sorta reminds me of some of the amazing music my friend Solomon is making. He goes my the name Madden and he does this original dark Cumbia-ish music called Draggeton, that I think is awesome... Shouts to Madden! True inspiration to me... Excited to hear more form Craxxxmurf!

3. ASAP Rocky | Brand New Guy (feat. ScHoolboy Q)
This song is a banger! Kind of Lil B-ish in the best Based way. I've been a fan of ASAP from day one when I saw the Get High video. Before Purple Swag and Peso (which I love)... Ty Beats and Clams Casino are the truth by the way! But yeah, Brand New Guy bangs to me. I love the beat. Shit goes hard. Wild out. I love this whole mixtape. LiveLoveA$AP is an instant classic. Clams Casino, Ty Beats and Beautiful Lou are some of my favorite up an coming producers and now Lyle who did this song. Keep it trill. Keep it Based. Thank you, BASEDGOD.

4. Why Be | Go Hard (Nightcall Edit)
I also found Why Beezy on Soundcloud. This song grew on me like most good songs do. I've played it live a couple times and everyone seems to dig it... I would play more of Why Beezy's tunes if I had them. I like the drums. I'm a huge fan of snare rolls. The bassline is simple and great too. Fun tune. Why Beezy is cool.

5. BLOWN | Hole In The Tundra
My dude Solomon turned me on to this one. I love the feeling it gives me. The drums are fucking great and that simple Lo-Fi rainy synth is a nice fit. I was thinking I wanted to start doing elevator music but with drums like this. This shit is mad uplifting and inspirational. Go forth.

6. NAKED WEREWOLF | FL4ME ON

I'm a huge fan of Juke, Ghetto Tech, Bmore, Philly Club etc... I love Dance music that is hard. A lot of Dance/House music is kinda soft, which I enjoy too, but I love the way that Dance music can be hood. Makes me want to dance every time. The dirtier the better. For real. NAKED WEREWOLF is someone I just recently got turned on to. His shit is cool and different. I played like three of his tunes in a Juke set the other night.

7. Peaking Lights | Birds Of Paradise (Dub Version)
Peaking Lights can do no wrong. I'm honored to know them personally. I use to live in Madison, Wi and I would go in their vintage store called Good Style. Rad store. Rad people. Saw some good shows there. Aaron and Indra are the coolest. I'm working on remixing their 936 album for fun because it is so good. Not cuz I know them but because it so fucking good. Working on this tune now. This shit gets me high.

8. Pictureplane | Real Is A Feeling (Unicorn Kid Ecstasy Dream Mix)
Unicorn Kid makes fun music. Into him and all Coral Records at the moment. It makes me feel like I'm in a an underwater rave tryn to smash mermaids on Xtc. Pictureplane is inspirational. This is just fun. True Love Fantasy I've listened to on repeat as well.

9. Soulja Boy | I'm So Important (Came Out The Water Pt. 2)
I don't want to like Soulja Boy cuz I think he's a lil cheesy and just bites what's cool at the moment. But when I listen to this song and the others Skate Boy mixtape I just swag the FUCK OUT. So good, fuck. His delivery is on point. The beats are amazing on this tape. I find humor swag and inspiration from the beat makers on Skate Boy. Good driving music #oceangang...

10. ∑NRON HUBB∆RD | Sine Feld Music
This shit goes hard. Sexy ass music. My dude John did this track. He along with Tennis Rodman, Morri$ and Tom Richman are making some really cool music. I see big things in the future. Sexy, trappy, future bass shit. Naw... Mean my dude Phil (@tennishoodman) but me on to a lot of these cats. Shouts to the Goombawave homies. We see you, Lawrence, Ks...

This is just what I'm into today, always subject to change. Wak Lyf.

WARMER MIXTAPES #505 | by Andreea Antonescu [AndreEA/Miss Ventura] of Andre

Photos by Evgeny Gromik.

1. The Righteous Brothers | Unchained Melody
I liked the Ghost movie very much and since I watched it I fell in love with this piece. I think it's one of the most sensitive songs in the World and always put me in a special state of mind. Also I use to listen to this after every movie with an exciting end. If feels like the perfect conclusion.

2. Francis Lai | (Where Do I Begin?) Love Story
I am romantic too, this is obvious, but the story of the movie impressed me and every time I hear the song I cry because it was my father's favorite movie. And with that I said it all.

3. Michael Jackson | Dirty Diana
There's no secret that Michael Jackson was and remains my favorite artist of all time. Although I was hard to choose a song for the playlist, Dirty Diana seemed most appropriate in this context and it is a track that made my heart melt since I was little. In addition, the lyrics talk about a difficult moment in the life of Michael and impressed me with the way he translated the moment into the lyrics, even if at some point the message is a bit unexpected and perhaps too direct.

4. Luther Vandross | Dance With My Father
I believe that there's no need of arguments, the song title says it all for those who have followed my life.

5. Ştefan Hruşcă | Rugă Pentru Părinţi
A piece that exists in many interpretations, each special in its own way. Obviously, the message here is why I chose the song, unfortunately, we come to comprehend the essence of the text too late in life...

6. Jessica Jay | Casablanca
Reminds me of childhood and my life in Galaţi when this song was a resounding success on the radios in the summers of the '90s. And I notice the song is still topical, I hear it every week for months now on several occasions and I enjoy it.

7. Céline Dion | Happy Xmas (War Is Over) (John & Yoko/Plastic Ono Band Cover)
Less sad than the original version, but a very sensitive piece still, remains my favorite at Christmas time when I decorate the house.

8. 4 Non Blondes | What's Up
I'll never forget this song because represents my first live success ever at a concert. This was when I was only 8 year-old, but even now I recall those times with pleasure!

9. Bryan Adams | Here I Am
I find myself totally in the lyrics. And it's a message that defines me.

10. Queen | Love Of my Life
It has made its way into this list because it's the first song that I learned to sing when I was little that I never sang to anybody...
