Can't believe it's 20 years old! Timeless. Only Aphex could put a sweet, mellow Piano line together with the most harsh, Metallic, Industrial noises & make it blend so well. One of those tracks that... When you hear it for the first time, it sounds strangely familiar, like you've known it all your life.
2. Coldcut | Autumn Leaves (Irresistible Force Mix)
Surely one of the Most Amazing Remixes Ever? My friends & I used to listen to this almost ritually at the end of a night out. It's got that bittersweet thing that the best Music always has (IMHO). It's beautifully Uplifting & achingly Melancholic in equal measures.
3. The Future Sound Of London | Papua New Guinea
Probably my fave tune of All Time. I heard this played by Luke Slater one NYE party when I was just discovering Electronic Music. Never looked back!
4. Drexciya | Andreaen Sand Dunes
So simple yet so Beautiful, these guys can stir a lot of Emotion with just three chords & a few notes.
5. Kraftwerk | Heimcomputer
(The German Version for Home Computer, of course). Pure Techno... Before the genre was even invented. It's Robotic in its Precision, but also totally Funky & danceable.
6. Boards Of Canada | Roygbiv
Classic Boards, I Love the way Chords & Melody's somehow weave in & out of each other.
7. Radioactive Man | Bug In Me System
Always been a fan of Keith's work, this is Electro at its best. Definitely aimed at the dancefloor, but there's a lot going on Musically.
8. LFO | LFO
A totally British-Sounding Techno record, you can almost smell the Warehouse Rave...
9. Radiohead | Idioteque
I've always been a huge Radiohead fan, imagine my delight when they started making Electronica! Kid A took a while to sink in for me, but it was a bold move to follow up one of the Best Albums of All Time with something that Different & Adventurous.
10. Rhythm Is Rhythm | It Is What It Is (Majestic Mix)
Epitomises the Sound of Detroit. Added a level of Sophistication to the Chicago House Sound & changed Dance Music Forever.
